In excess of 50 hours taking civilians beyond police academy, and/or the
law school levels in the understanding of judicious use of a deadly
force in the highest level of personal defense. The emphasis was
on tactics, legal and the moral considerations, and all the proper
interactions with responding officers or investigators, and the
aftermath management. Included were 500 rounds combat handgun.
Scored 285 out of 285 possible on the handgun qualification course
identical to that required for MI State Police Officers (MSP).

Five days of 50% shooting, remainder was video and/or tactics on
advanced pistol craft (i.e., shooting on the move, complete repertoire
for the "wounded return fire techniques", plus some advanced
combat shotgun, weak plus one handed reloading); introduction to the
Lindel weapon retention and various disarming methods; and, advanced
court room testimony techniques. A qualification at twice the standard
required for the Michigan State Police was completed.
